Five Spices Crispy Roasted Pork
 
 
 Ingredients · 1200g pork belly (with skin)
· 1 tbsp rice vinegar
· 3 garlic cloves
· 3 shallots
 
 Marinade · 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
· 1/2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp monosodium glutamate
· 2 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp pepper
· 1 1/2 tsp five spices powder, 2 tsp salt
 
Method to COOK!
 
1. Pound the garlic cloves and shallots until finely. Remove, add in marinade, and mix well. Keep aside. Blanch the pork belly into boiling water for a while, dish up and pat-dry. Score few slits on the meat side with a sharp knife, then rub well with the marinade mixture. Brush 1 tbsp of the rice vinegar onto the skin. Marinate for 2 hours.
 
2. Arrange the marinated pork belly on a wire rack. Roast in the preheated oven at 220c for about 30 minutes. Remove. Prick holes over the skin with a fork, then brush the pork skin with a little cooking oil, continue roast until golden in color and the skin is crispy, remove from oven. Cut into pieces and serve.
