Honey Lemon Spare Ribs
 
 
 Ingredients · 600g spare ribs (sectioned)
· 2 sliced lemon ( each cut into 4)
 
 Seasoning ·1 tsp salt
·? tsp monosodium glutamate
·1 tsp sugar
·1 egg yolk
·2 tbsp corn starch
 
 Honey lemon sauce ·150 ml lemon syrup
·1/2 lemon flesh (cubed)
·100ml rice vinegar
·225g sugar
·150ml water
·1/4 tbsp salt
·1 1/2 tbsp custard powder

Method to COOK!
 
1. Combine the spare ribs with marinade and marinate for 15 minutes. Deep-fry into hot oil until golden browned. Remove and drain well.
 
2. To make honey lemon sauce: mix all sauce ingredients until well combined. Pour the sauce mixture into a pot. Bring to the boil, and then reduce to low heat and simmer for 1 hour until the sauce has thickened. Remove from the heat, through sieve, keep aside.
 
3. Heat up 2 tbsp oil in a preheated wok. Add in 1 bowl (about 300ml) of the cooked honey lemon sauce, put in lemon slices and cook together for about 1 minute.
 
4. Add in the prefried spare ribs, stirring constantly over high heat until the sauce has thickened. Dish up and serve.


Note
 
This spiced sauce can be used for three times. The remaining sauce can also be kept in the fridge for later use.
