Vegetarian
A Well & Balance Diet
|

|
Vegetarian is a well & balance diet, it is all about finesse, art and vigorous colours. Long gone are the days when orange is the only touch of glow you would have on a plate of dull vegetable bouillon.

Studies have shown that vegetarian have better health than people who eat meat; lower rates of coronary and artery disease, gallstones, lung and colon cancer, kidney stones, diabetes and high blood pressure. Vegetarians also have lower cholesterol levels and are less likely to be overweight than a non-vegetarian. It is actually quite easy to have a well-balance diet with vegetarian foods as they provide plenty of protein. Any normal variety of plant foods provides more than enough protein for the body's needs. A diet focused on beans, whole grains, and vegetables contains adequate amounts of protein without getting the overdose. Many dark green, leafy vegetables and beans are loaded with calcium. Iron is plentiful in whole grains, beans, and fruits.

The basic ingredients of traditional Chinese vegetarian cuisine are vegetable oils, wheat gluten, soy bean products, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, edible fungi, seaweed, vegetables, fresh and dried fruits, eggs and milk. The range of foods is more restricted than in many western vegetarian diets.

21st century vegetarianism is all about finesse, art and vigorous colours. Long gone are the days when orange is the only touch of glow you would have on a plate of dull vegetable bouillon. The increasing number of vegetarian convenience foods makes the preparation of vegetarian meals a child's play. Canned beans, soy-based foods, vegetable burgers and sausages, and pre-packaged dinners make vegetarian meals ready in minutes.
